Liga ng mga Barangay – Iloilo Province President Amalia Victoria Debuque met with Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. this morning to provide updates on the release of funds under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s “Bawat Barangay Makikinabang” Program, coursed through the Socio-Civil Projects Fund (SCPF).
Debuque raised concerns regarding several barangays with unliquidated funds, which prevents them from availing of the ₱200,000 grant as stipulated in the program guidelines.
Governor Defensor vowed to help address the barangays’ concerns on unliquidated funds to the best of his ability.
The grant, intended for each of the province’s 1,721 barangays, will be divided equally:
* ₱100,000 for scholarship assistance benefiting five senior or graduating college students per barangay
* ₱100,000 for grassroots development projects
Debuque also personally invited Governor Defensor to attend Liga Day 2026 on Sunday, July 19, at the Iloilo Sports Complex.
The celebration will be highlighted by the presence of LNB National President Jessica Dy and League of Cities of the Philippines President, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora.
