Forty-six students received a combined Php 588,008.80 in allowances under the third batch of the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) of the Iloilo Provincial Government (IPG).
The beneficiaries paid a courtesy visit to Provincial Administrator Raul Banias and received their allowances through the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO), which implements the program.
The third batch included beneficiaries from Badiangan, Ajuy, Guimbal, Janiuay and Concepcion.
Their SPES allowance is funded by the Iloilo Provincial Government.
SPES is a government employment program that provides temporary work opportunities to students and helps augment their families’ income while allowing them to continue their education.
Through the program, IPG and PESO aim to help young Ilonggos meet their educational needs while preparing them for future employment.
