The Iloilo Provincial Government, led by Governor Arthur R. Defensor Jr., released financial assistance to local government units (LGUs) to support projects that will benefit their communities.
The Municipality of Cabatuan received ₱10 million for its Solid Waste Management Program. The fund will be used to purchase a garbage compactor with a public address system to help improve waste collection and disposal in the municipality.
The Municipality of Barotac Viejo also received ₱2.5 million for the construction of a School of Living Tradition in Sitio Nagpana, Barangay Lipata. The project aims to help preserve the culture, traditions, and knowledge of the Ati community and pass them on to the younger generation.
Meanwhile, Barangay Tamocol in the Municipality of Badiangan received ₱1.95 million to purchase a 1,300-square-meter lot. The property will be used for the construction of a multi-purpose center and other government facilities that will serve the barangay.
The financial assistance is part of the Provincial Government's continuing support for projects that improve public services, protect the environment, preserve local culture, and promote community development throughout Iloilo.
