Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. led the ceremonial turnover of a service vehicle to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at the Governor’s Boardroom this afternoon.
The donation was personally received by PDEA Director General Isagani Nerez, who expressed gratitude and noted that the vehicle would greatly support their campaign against illegal drugs. Nerez also highlighted the strong partnership between the Iloilo Provincial Government and PDEA in safeguarding the community.
"This service vehicle is a tangible expression of partnership, shared commitment and of the trust that the people of Iloilo province place in our campaign against illegal drugs," Nerez stressed.
"This gesture (Iloilo provincial government's generosity) will serve as a constant reminder that here in Iloilo PDEA is not alone, we have a partner in the Iloilo Provincial Government," he added.
Governor Defensor, for his part, underscored his commitment to further collaboration with the agency — not only in the anti-illegal drugs campaign but also in providing logistical support to strengthen their operations.
Joining the ceremony were PDEA Region 6 officials led by Regional Director Ralph Rommel Torres. Governor Defensor was accompanied by Provincial Administrator Raul Banias and Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Dennis Ventilacion.
