The Iloilo Provincial Government’s district hospitals were recognized for their commitment to sustainability and safety during the Recognition of Green and Safe Health Facilities organized by the Department of Health (DOH) on December 2, 2024, at Royce Hotel and Casino, Clark, Pampanga.
Earning the prestigious recognition for achieving 5 Green Stars in 2023 were Iloilo Provincial Hospital - IPH, Aleosan District Hospital (ADH), Dr. Ricardo S. Provido Sr. Memorial District Hospital (DRSPSMDH), and Rep. Pedro G. Trono Memorial Hospital (RPGTMDH).
Meanwhile, the 4 Green Star recognition was awarded to Don Valerio Palmares Sr. Memorial District Hospital (DVPSMDH), Jesus M. Colmenares District Hospital (JMCDH), Sara District Hospital (SDH), Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital (RTMDH), and Federico Roman Tirador Sr. Memorial District Hospital (FRTSMDH).
The RDDDH and Governor Niel D. Tupas Sr. District Hospital(GNDTSDH) were also awarded with a plaque of recognition for advancing from 3 Green Stars to 4 Green Stars.
Additionally, Dr. Ricardo Y. Ladrido Memorial Hospital (DRYLMH) received a recommendation for its leap from 4 Green Stars to 5 Green Stars.
The awards were based on the DOH’s Green and Safe Health Facilities Manual, which outlines environmental goals such as improving indoor environmental quality, enhancing patient safety, ensuring site sustainability, optimizing healthcare waste management, and increasing energy and water efficiency.
These achievements highlight the province’s dedication to environmental sustainability and safe healthcare practices.
Under the leadership of Governor Arthur Defensor Jr., the Iloilo Provincial Government continues to prioritize resource efficiency, effective waste management, and patient safety, demonstrating its commitment to advancing sustainable healthcare in the region.
