Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr., serving as this year’s Hermano Mayor, alongside First Lady Michelle Defensor as Hermana Mayor, led the concelebrated high mass at the San Jose Parish Placer this morning.
Governor Defensor joined the Iloilo City officials led by Mayor Raisa Treñas, and the officers of the Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. (IFFI) during the solemn celebration.
Also present are former Ilonggo Senator Frank Drilon, Congressman Jam-Jam Baronda and guests Senator Bam Aquino and San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora.
Held on the Feast Day of Señor Santo Niño de Cebu, the mass, officiated by Jaro Archbishop Emeritus Most. Rev. Jose Romeo Lazo, marked the solemn opening of the highly anticipated Iloilo Dinagyang Festival.
