Members of Ulian Tampucao Agrarian Reform Cooperative (UTARC) in Lambunao recently underwent skills enhancement training on meat processing spearheaded by Provincial Cooperatives Development Office Iloilo (PCDO) in partnership with Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Iloilo.
The training, held under Iloilo Technology and Livelihood Development Center (TLDC) Program, forms part of Provincial Government’s continuing efforts to empower grassroots communities through enterprise-based capacity building.
UTARC’s participation follows the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement last month, where the PCDO-Iloilo formally pledged support to strengthen the cooperative’s Meat Processing Center, marking a milestone under DAR Iloilo’s Village-Level Farm-Focused Enterprise Development (VLFED) program, which aims to nurture local enterprises among agrarian reform beneficiaries.
Through the training, cooperative members gained practical skills on hygienic processing, packaging, and product diversification which are crucial competencies for penetrating wider markets and improving household income.
