PROVL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL OKAYS P30B AIP FOR CY 2026

The Provincial Development Council (PDC) chaired by Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. approved the 2026 Annual Investment Program (AIP) of the province amounting to Php 30,112,221,330 during its en banc meeting at Days Hotel, Iloilo City this morning.

The AIP is broken down into the following service sectors: General Public Services Sector - Php 2.7 billion, Social Services Sector - Php 13.9 billion, Economic Services Sector - Php 7.1 billion, and Other Services Sector - Php 6.3 billion.

AIP is a plan that outlines a Local Government Unit's (LGU) priority projects, programs, and activities (PPAs) for the upcoming fiscal year.

It essentially serves as the LGU's work and financial plan for the year, indicating how resources will be allocated to achieve specific development goals.

The AIP is a critical document that ensures alignment between planned projects and the local budget.

Included in the AIP is the budget for the full implementation of the Php 20 per kilo rice under the SiPAG at Tyaga for MorProgres Iloilo program of Governor Defensor.

The PDC also endorsed the Department of Agriculture's farm bridges project to be implemented in Iloilo province particularly in Brgy. Camandag, Leon; Brgy. Gemumua Agahon, Passi City; Brgy. Abaca, San Enrique; and Brgy. Nueva Invencion, Barotac Viejo.

Also tackled during the meeting were updates on provincial government projects such as: Purok Resilience Program and the proposed Provincial Government Center to be established in Santa Barbara.

Present in the PDC en banc meeting were representatives of the five district congressmen, Sangguniang Panlalawigan members or their representatives, Mayors or their representatives, provincial government department heads, and representatives from civil society and non-government organizations.
