The Iloilo Provincial Government through the Provincial Treasurer's Office held the Awarding Ceremony for the Best Performing Municipalities in Real Property Tax (RPT) Collection and Other Treasury Services in the Province of Iloilo for Calendar Year 2022 at the Capitol lobby this morning.
Provincial Administrator Raul Banias represented Gov. Arthur Defensor, Jr. who attended the equally important Cocanut Congress at Iloilo Convention Center.
Also present were Vice Governor Christine Garin and Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) VI Regional Director Maria Rhodora Gascon.
Various awards were given in recognition of the important contribution of the Municipal Treasury Offices in efficient tax collection which represents almost 20% of the Iloilo provincial government's income.
Banias noted that the taxes collected by the municipalities are a big help to the programs and projects of the provincial government.
Vice Gov. Garin also lauded the men and women of the Provincial Treasurer's Office headed by Jean Maire Umadhay for their hard work and dedication which resulted in excellent collection performance.
