Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr., together with Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, welcomed this afternoon the delegation from Wanju-gun, South Korea during their courtesy visit.
They were joined by the municipal officials of Mina, which has maintained a Seasonal Farmer Program with Wanju since 2023. Under this partnership, more than 400 Minanhon farmers have already been deployed to Wanju-gun, where they serve as on-call workers assigned to various fields daily. Their tasks include harvesting and planting onions, garlic, lettuce, strawberries, and other crops.
Governor Defensor lauded the program, emphasizing that it reflects the shared commitment of both the Philippine and Korean governments to advancing the skills of seasonal farmers.
