Six municipalities in Iloilo province were conferred the Seal of Good Education Governance by the Synergeia Foundation recently.

Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. distributed cash incentives to the Iskolar sang Iloilo (provincial government scholars) who graduated from the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) recently.The granting of cash incentives was one of the policies set and approved by the Provincial Scholarship Management Board. Sixty-one Iskolar sang Iloilo recipients are graduating this year. Four of them are Magna Cum Laude graduates while 16 others obtained Magna Cum Laude honors. Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. and Estancia Mayor Rene Cordero cut the ribbon to officially open the Teen Hive teen center in Estancia National High School (ENHS) last March 31, 2017. Teen Hive is the 45th multi-purpose teen center established in major secondary schools in the province. Assisting them in the ribbon-cutting were Provincial Population Office (PPO) chief Ramon Yee and ENHS principal Marilyn Dolendo.
One hundred nineteen public schools in 32 municipalities in the province received financial assistance from the Iloilo provincial government through the Provincial School Board (PSB) chaired by Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. The financial assistance totalling P33,874,944.73 ranges from P60,000 to P1,000,000 depending on the project proposal submitted by the recipient schools.
