ILOILO – Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. is signing a memorandum of agreement with Paul Antoine Tolentino, the general manager of Una Kaya Futbol Club Inc., to make this province their home for future games.
Defensor and Tolentino will sign the agreement at 12:00 noon in the Governor’s Boardroom in Iloilo Provincial Capitol on February 6, 2018.
Under the agreement, the provincial government will make available the Iloilo Sports Complex as Kaya-FC’s home stadium for trainings and games for Philippine Football League 2018.
The Iloilo Sports Development and Management Office (ISDMO) will be designated as program coordinating office to supervise or facilitate the club’s activities in the province.
It will also make available its football team for regular football training and clinic with Kaya-FC as part of its sports development program for promising athletes to help them become world class athletes.
As permitted by its budget, the province also agrees to install lights that are in accordance with the National and International Standards at its football field.
The premier Filipino professional association football club, on the other hand, will adopt the name “Kaya FC-Iloilo” as its sets its home ground in Iloilo Sports Complex.
It will provide technical expertise and know-how including other supplies and equipment for preventive maintenance of the facility and to meet international standards.
Defensor’s sports consultant, Pablito Araneta said making Iloilo Sports Complex the home stadium of Kaya-FC will boost the sports program of the province, especially in building and capacitating home-grown talents.
“This happens for the first time and it sets many advantages to the province not only in terms of sports development but also in sports tourism since some of Kaya FC’s athletes will be relocated here,” he said.
