The annual Piyesta sa Kakahuyan was recently held last September 27, 2008 at the Mahogany Park in Barangay Daja, Maasin, Iloilo. Already in its ninth year, the Piyesta sa Kakahuyan began in the year 2000, the offshoot of a law that called for the conservation of existing watersheds in the Province of Iloilo. The celebration serves as a reminder of our responsibility to protect and nurture our forests, to ensure that future generations of Ilonggos will benefit from them as much as we do today.
