CONCEPCION, Iloilo — The US$5.5-million rehabilitation of the port of Concepcion will soon commence following the launch of the Northern Iloilo Fishery Rehabilitation and Development Project on February 1, 2017. To be funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the project aims to raise the productivity and income of Yolanda-hit fisher folks in Concepcion through the rehabilitation and improvement of the town's fish port facilities.
Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. thanked Health Secretary Paulyn Jean Rosell-Ubial for helping the province in its quest to improve the delivery of health services especially for the poor.

First to be inaugurated was the P2.2 million barangay health center in Brgy. Atimonan, a mountainous barangay in Janiuay that can be reached by foot 4 to 5 hours.

One hundred nineteen public schools in 32 municipalities in the province received financial assistance from the Iloilo provincial government through the Provincial School Board (PSB) chaired by Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. The financial assistance totalling P33,874,944.73 ranges from P60,000 to P1,000,000 depending on the project proposal submitted by the recipient schools.
